Charles Goodger

The creative force behind FunSongs, Charles Goodger is an adjunct professor in the Education Sciences department at the University of Bologna, Italy — and a lifelong musician with a passion for the transformative power of song.

With decades of experience as a teacher trainer, Charles has developed a methodology that fuses melody, movement, and meaning to make language acquisition natural, joyful, and lasting.

He puts it simply:

Normally, I don’t use songs much in the classroom, because I find that students tend to sing along without understanding what they are singing, so the activity doesn’t contribute much to their language learning.
